The Department of Forensic Science successfully organized a one-day, practical-oriented training program titled “ Scientific Techniques in Crime Scene Investigation ” for personnel from the Police Training College (PTC), Indore. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr. Dilip Kumar Patnaik, Dr. A.A. Koser (Dean, Academic Affairs & Science), Dr. Rekha Jain (Associate Dean), and Dr. Preeti Jain(Dean First Year). The session was graced by distinguished guests Shri. Rammurti Shakyawar (DSP Welfare & Administration, MP Police) and Shri. Shailja Patwa (DSP, PTC Indore). Key Training Highlights: Crime Scene Management: Practical demonstrations of Indoor and Outdoor Crime Scene Investigation, including mock homicide scenarios. Evidence Analysis: Hands-on sessions on fingerprint development, questioned document security, and investigative techniques in Forensic Biology and Chemistry. Digital Forensics: Training on the collection, preservation, and data acquisition of digital evidence. Legal Alignment: Specialized focus on the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to ensure forensic evidence meets new legal mandates. The training concluded with a valedictory session emphasizing the transition toward evidence-based policing. The event saw active participation from PTC trainees, including Inspector Amrita Solanki and team, supported by faculty members and student volunteers.
