Faculty of Agriculture Organised successfully 3 Days Training Programme on mushroom cultivation.
Day 1: Inaugural Session and Hands-on Training
The 3-day training on mushroom cultivation commenced with an inaugural session graced by dignitaries including faculty members, and enthusiastic participants from diverse backgrounds.
Session Highlights:
Welcome address by Dean faculty of Agriculture Prof. S.D. Upadhyay, highlighting the objectives of the training.
Inaugural speech by Dr. Swati Barche from Agriculture College indore and Dr. Pooja Dubey Pandey from Beti Innovation emphasizing the potential of mushroom cultivation as a sustainable livelihood option. Prof. P Silviyanathan, Registar opined that such type of hands on training is need of the hour. Prof. D.K. Patnaik Honble Kulguru motivated to students to become a job provider instead of job seeker. He advised the students to take advantage of the MII foundation to start the business and establish of enterpreneurship.
Hands-on Training (Afternoon Session):
Demonstration on substrate preparation using straw and sawdust.
Spawning process and hygiene maintenance.
Bagging techniques and incubation conditions.
Participants actively engaged in the preparation process under expert guidance.
Day 2: Industry Visit to Mushroom Production Units.
Participants visited commercial mushroom production unit located at Bicholi Mardana, Indore.
Visit: Anutech mushroom farm
Exposure to commercial-scale oyster and button mushroom production.
Observation of automated and manual techniques.
Discussion with farm owner about economic feasibility, challenges, and market linkage.
Introduction to organic methods and value addition techniques.
Packaging, branding, and supply chain insights.
Participants interacted with industry experts and gained practical knowledge of real-time operations, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the scalability of mushroom farming.
Day 3: Valedictory Ceremony, Feedback, Evaluation test & Certificate distribution
Recap and Q&A session on key learnings from the past two days.
Evaluation test conducted to assess knowledge gained during the training.
Most participants scored well, indicating strong engagement.
