RAWE Orientation program at Ambachandan Village

On 31st August 2025, the Rural Agricultural Work Experience of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students were inaugurated in Ambachandan village, Tehsil Mahu. These students are studying in the fourth year in the Faculty of Agriculture of Medicaps University, Rau. Each student will spend the next four months with their mentor farmer and gain experience of farming at the ground level. Also, they will share the knowledge acquired by them with the farmers. The students will prepare a project in which they will present their recommendations to reduce the cost of the farmer and increase the income by at least 40 percent (by reducing the production cost by 20 percent and increasing production by 20 percent). The inauguration program was organized on a large scale in the Patidar Dharamshala of Ambachandan village. Under this program, all the students were encouraged by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Ms. Usha Thakur MLA, Mhow. The meaningful speech of the Hon’ble MLA was a source of inspiration for everyone. The chairman of the function, Hon’ble Professor D.K. Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of Medicaps University, in his speech advised the farmers to take advantage of the latest technology of farming and research done by scientists and assured to provide full guidance from Medicaps University in this direction and quoted some lines of the University Anthem and appealed to the students to become society ready. He underlined the importance of practical knowledge through a story. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Birajashish Patnaik and Registrar Prof. P. Siluvainathan also encouraged the students to complete the agricultural work experience in a quality manner. Sarpanch of village Ambachandan, Shri Jitendra Patidar, in his speech expressed his gratitude for selecting village Ambachandan. He assured full cooperation of himself and the farmers. On this occasion, the presence and cooperation of Mr. Rupesh Vaghmore Mandal President Simrol, Mr. Sachin Patidar Secretary Panchayat and the dignitaries of the village was commendable. The Dean of Medicaps University, Prof. S. D. Upadhyay, elaborated on various aspects related to increasing the income of farmers. He also mentioned the commitment of Medicaps University to provide higher education in the field of agriculture and education under the new National Education Policy and informed that the students who will gain experience of working in rural agriculture with the farmers will inform the government about the agricultural innovative dimensions and future possibilities. The Dean also share the four-year course of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agricultural Business Management (ABM) in the series of making agriculture a profitable venture. A large numbers of enthusiastic farmers (male and female farmers), government officials and faculty of the agricultural department participated in the program. The program was conducted by Professor Muralidhar Iyer. Dr. Shivpal Singh and Professor Rajul Soni, coordinators of the RAWE program, shared necessary information and guidelines with farmers and students. In the end, the vote of thanks was given by Professor Dr. Sanjay Singh. The Agriculture Faculty expressed its gratitude to the university management for the successful organization of the program.
