A Technical Exposure Visit was organized for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, 6th Semester students on 31 January 2026 to Anant Cold Storage, Keshar Bardi Phata, and Exotic Farms (Hi-Tech Horticulture), Jamli, Taluka Mhow, District Indore. Anant Cold Storage Visit At Anant Cold Storage, Shri Ashok Patidar, CEO, briefed the students on modern cold storage management. The total storage capacity is 5000 MT, including 2000 MT potato, 1000 MT carrot, and 2000 MT beetroot, along with storage for 8000 quintals of red onion. He explained the effect of temperature on stored produce, with general storage at 3–4°C and potato storage for chips at 5–6°C (≈36°F). Students were shown the conveyor belt system used to transport produce directly up to the 5th floor. The unit also practices recycling of soybean crop residue into biofuel (1000 MT). Students actively interacted with Shri Ashok Patidar, who was felicitated with a token of appreciation from Medicaps University. Exotic Farms (Hi-Tech Horticulture) Visit At Exotic Farms, Jamli, Shri Dinesh Bhoot, Managing Director, shared advanced technical knowledge on dragon fruit cultivation over 6 acres, with a current production of 32 MT and an output ratio of 4:1. He discussed variety selection, land preparation, nursery raising, nutrient management, drip fertigation, IPM, and canopy management. Students also visited the avocado orchard (3 acres) with Lambas rootstock and Pinkatan scion. Details on fruiting (after 3 years), canopy management, nutrient management, and 100% drip and micro-jet irrigation systems were explained. Participation & Acknowledgement, About 30 students and two faculty members, Prof. Murlidhar Iyer and Prof. Rajul Soni, actively participated. The student–farmer interaction was highly informative. Shri Dinesh Bhoot was felicitated for his cooperation.
