Medicaps University leads the way for a cleaner, healthier Indore by organizing the first-ever Cyclothon

event

The event aimed to reinforce Indore's prestigious No. 1 rank in cleanliness while promoting personal health and environmental responsibility among residents.

Indore: In a remarkable initiative to promote environmental consciousness and public health, Medicaps University, in collaboration with the Indore Municipal Corporation, organized the Medicaps Cyclothon. As part of the 25th-anniversary celebration, 200 cyclists enthusiastically participated in the event, reinforcing their commitment to the “Clean Indore – Healthy Indore” movement.

Under the university’s “25 Years of Excellence” initiative, this cyclothon was the first of its kind by a private university in Indore, serving as a milestone in Medicaps’ journey of academic and social excellence. The event highlighted the importance of maintaining Indore’s No.1 ranking in cleanliness while emphasizing personal health and social responsibility.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Mayor’s representative Bharat Parakh Ji and Medicaps University Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Patnaik. Eminent dignitaries, including Mr. Mahendra Singh Chauhan, Mrs. Praveena Agnihotri, and Mr. Sanjay Panjwani, were also present to celebrate the participants’ spirit and commitment.

Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Ruchir Lashkari, Head of Sports, Medicaps University said, “True progress is measured by the well-being of both people and the environment. A clean city reflects the mindset of its citizens, and a healthy body mirrors the discipline of its owner. Through this cyclothon, we are encouraging a culture where responsibility towards our surroundings goes hand in hand with personal wellness. Every pedal pushed today is a step toward a healthier future, and this initiative is a reminder that small, consistent actions create the most lasting impact.”

The event’s success was made possible through strong support from the Indore Municipal Administration, Police Department, AICTSL, and Health Department, ensuring seamless traffic and security arrangements. The efforts of the organizing team, led by Event Coordinator Mr. Gaurav Patel, Deputy Coordinators Mr. Ashwin Parihar, and Mr. Abhishek Shrotriya, and faculty members Dr. Ruchir Lashkari, Dr. Jitendra Talreja, and Dr. Jitendra Asati (Sports Officer), were instrumental in the smooth execution of the event. Volunteers from MASA also played a key role in facilitating operations.

In recognition of this innovative initiative, the World Record of Excellence, England, awarded Medicaps University a Certificate of Excellence, adding yet another feather to Indore’s cap and reinforcing the university’s commitment to societal well-being.
