Dr. Ankit Soni has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Medicaps University, Indore, since 2022. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Physics and Computer Science in 2009, followed by an M.Sc. in Physics and an M.Tech. in Laser Science and Applications from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore.
Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Soni worked as a Project Scientist in the Department of Physics at IIT Delhi. He was also awarded the prestigious National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF), through which he pursued postdoctoral research in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal.
Dr. Soni has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences. During his Ph.D. tenure, he was awarded the prestigious International Travel Support by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi, to present his research at an international conference hosted by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA. He also received the Best Poster Presentation Award at an international conference held at IIT (BHU), Varanasi, in recognition of his research contributions.
His research interests include thin films and nanostructured materials, pulsed laser deposition, photodetectors, and condensed matter physics. He has published several research articles in reputed peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings. In addition to his research activities, Dr. Soni actively serves as a reviewer for leading international publishers, including IOP Publishing, Springer, Elsevier, and IEEE, contributing to the peer-review process of high-quality scientific research.
